STEP 1
COMPETENCY
eAssessment is a key competence that is required and will become more sought after for the next 3-5 years.
The competency will mature and assessors who can navigate eAssessment platforms, have in one way or another proven their ability to navigate learning technology that enables this competence.
They continue to embrace eAssessment and the Skills Development Provider / Training provider will be able to find safety when contracting with Assessment if they have this eAssessment Proficiency Competence.
STEP 2
DESIGNATION
Professional designations are titles that you may receive to show your level of excellence in your line of work. (in our case conducting assessment)
You can use your assessor designation if you have completed the requirements set out in the DLAP rubric. We are working to make these designations valuable nationally or internationally
STEP 3
OCCUPATION
Description
Assessors of prior learning measure the existing competencies, skills, and knowledge of a candidate against a given qualification or certificate, according to a pre-defined standard or procedure, and judge objectively if the candidate reaches the corresponding performance criteria.
STEP 1 - COMPETENCY TRAINING
DIGITAL PROFICIENCY
Objective:
To be able to navigate a digital assessment platform
Outcomes:
- Introduction to Digital Platforms for assessment
- Principles of Assessment in the Digital Space
- Navigating Digital Platforms
Course Requirements:
- Cost: ZAR 850 per person
- Entry: 2 Years experience in assessing learning, competence, occupations or recruitment
- Duration: 2 hours
- Tech: Access to Zoom for training and app.p4p.co.za, and be able to create a selfie video on your mobile device.
- Willingness: to learn, create, update,

Course Requirements:
- Cost: ZAR 1900 per person
- Entry: Any assessor training course, or + 6 months experience in assessing learning, competence, occupations or recruitment
- Duration: 8 hours (4 x 2 hours sessions in 1 week)
- Tech: Access to Zoom for training, app.p4p.co.za, and find someone to assess.
- Willingness: to learn, create, update

- Cost: ZAR 3900 per person
- Entry: A substantial demonstrable experience in the targeted occupations they are assessing.
- Duration: 16 hours (4 x 4 hours sessions in 1 week)
- Tech: Access to Zoom for training, app.p4p.co.za, and find 2 people to assess.
- Willingness: to learn, create, update
Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
This is required for designated members and refers to the process you follow in keeping your skills in assessment sharp and up to date. Achieved through continued practice, research, reviews, engagement and other exciting ways.
You can gain CPD both formally and informally as you work and assess (see the chambers).
You need to create a digital record (a portfolio) of your experience, learning and application. DLAP uses the P4P platform to assist you to create your portfolio, loading your evidence into your account, documenting your development as a professional and this will be reviewed by the DLAP team annually after you have completed your subscription.
